Wines Champagne Prosecco and Beer Festive Drinks

Hope you have stacked up the home bar Get-off-the-phone so lets go...ready for some festive drinks to warm your cockles, and sooth your heart.

For these festive drinks, You Will Need:  Wine, Champagne, Prosecco, Beer.

Wines have been used since ancient times to mix drinks. Greeks and Romans even people in the Bible mixed honey with wines and spices. Nowadays anything goes, standard table wines desert wines, champagnes Prosecco, aperitifs can only use to mix drinks. 

What you should know:
Fortified wine- this is fragmented wine, which are distilled spirit such as brandy has been added. Brandy is classically known as a fortified wine.
Spritzer-this is a combination of wine usually white, or Rhine mixed with soda, lemonade or seltzer, to give you a light refreshing drink for those who do not want much alcohol.


Spritzer

You will need:
Rocks in at tall glass     
1 part wine
1 part lemonade or club soda to fill
Lemon twist  
Fill your glass with ice. Pour wine to fill halfway. At the club soda or lemonade to fill. Garnish with the twist.



Kir

You will need:
A large wine glass
½ oz Crème de cassis (chilled before hand)
Crème de cassis is a sweet, dark red liqueur made from blackcurrants.
5oz dry white wine (chilled before hand)
Combine them in your serving glass and enjoy.


Rhine Wine Spritzer

You will need:

A highball glass

4oz Rhine wine

Club soda/sparkling mineral water if preferred to fill

Lemon spiral

Pour wine into the serving glass filled with ice. Add club soda or mineral water to fill. Garnish with long lemon peel curlicue; hang over the side of the glass.



Aperitif- this is a spirituous deep sharp beverage which is usually drunk before a meal. This is known as an appetizer.



Americano
You will need:

An old-fashioned glass
A strainer
2oz Sweet Vermouth
2oz Campari
Club soda to fill
Orange twist
Combine the Vermouth and Campari in a mixing glass with lots of ice. Stir, strain into your old-fashioned glass with a small amount of ice. Add your soda and garnish with the twist.



 Appetizer
You will need:
A chilled cocktail glass
3oz. Dubonnet rough
Juice of 1 orange



Combine the Dubonnet and orange juice in a shaker with ice. Shake vigorously, then strain into the serving glass. 






Weep No More

You will need:

A chilled cocktail glass

1.5 oz Dubonnet rough

1.5oz Cognac

1.5oz lime juice

Dash of maraschino liqueur

Combine all ingredients in the shaker with  the ice. Shake Shake Shake then strain into the serving glass.

Champagne the original sparkling wine. Which originates from the north of France.                                            Champagnes range from dry (brut) to sweet and fruity.



Champagne cocktail

You will need:
Champagne flute
1 sugar cube
Champagne to fill
Liberal dashes Angostura bitters
Lemon Twist
Drop the cube you in the serving glass and splash on the bitters. Now add your champagne stirring gently until the sugar dissolves (make sure it doesn’t bubble over) garnish with the twist-ready.


Mimosa
You will need:
A chilled wine goblet
6oz brut champagne -pre-chilled
3oz Orange Juice (freshly squeezed & pre-chilled)
Orange slice

Combine the orange juice and champagne in the serving glass. Garnish with the orange slice then drink.

Perfect Martini

You will need:
Chilled cocktail glass
1.5oz gin
½ tsp. dry vermouth
½ tsp sweet vermouth
Olive
Leaving out the olive, mix all the other ingredients together in a mixing glass with ice. Stir and strain into the serving glass. Garnish with the olive.




 Champagne Fizz
You will Need:
2oz Gin
1oz sour mix
Champagne to fill

Put the gin and sour mix in the shaker with ice.  Shake vigorously, then strain into the serving glass. Add the champagne to fill.


 Champagne Cooler

You will need:

A Highball glass

1oz Brandy

1oz Cointreau

Champagne to fill

Mint Sprigs

Put your brandy and Cointreau in the serving glass and fill with ice.  Add champagne to fill add mint spigs.  Enjoy.


Beer Fest



Never thought it possible, to mix beer well here goes it can be done. These can be served in beer mug of Pilsner glass, depending on your planned event.





Boilermaker
You will need:
A beer mug
12oz beer
Pour the beer into the mug-add whiskey drink enjoy.                                                                   Alternative drop the shot glass into the bottom of the beer.



 Black Velvet

You will need:

A tall Pilsner glass

5-8oz stout or porters

Equal amount of extra brut champagne


Pour in the stout or porters, followed by carefully pouring the champagne in slowly down the side of the glass to make two separate layers. DO NOT STIR.


Sneaky Pete
You will need:
A beer mug
1.5oz applejack
12oz beer
Pour beer into the mug and add the applejack.


Go Naked

You will need:

A beer mug or pilsner glass

1oz vodka

1oz gin

Juice of ½ lime

Beer to fill

Place all ingredients except beer in the serving glass half filled with ice.  Stir, then add beer to fill.
