Summer is here.

Ok summer is here again time to plan those BBQ'S if you have not had one this year already.
Currently due to the unpredictable weather there are bargains to be had on our high street.

On your weekly shop, look out for reduced rolls, sausages, burgers any thing that can be frozen, and put them away until needed.

I know what your thinking, frozen and reduced. Trust me your guest won’t know the difference, nor will they care.
Pop to your more upmarket supermarkets if you prefer, for a more versatile pallet.

Food taken care of, look out for the special offers of beers and wines, which are currently on offer.
Look out for the famous 25% off when you buy 6 bottles of wines, or mix and match deals in the drinks aisles.

Also on offer are tasty none  alcoholic beverages, so everyone feels special.
Check out my range of party games to fill the summer.

Covid-19 Don't Get Bored

Calling All Models

Players: Any number (depends on who you are in isolation with)
You Will Need: 2 models, Clothing, Pencil and Paper
How To Play:
So, everyone gathers and are seated.  Choose your model (female if possible), who will leave the room and get dressed ready to slay the catwalk.  Whilst strutting their stuff, players make a mental note of what they are wearing.  When the model leaves the room, the remaining players are given pen and paper, and they must now write down as much as they can remember about the outfit.
Colour
Buttons, Zips
Boots
Glasses
Walking stick
Ties etc...
Next your second model(male) is announced, and enters ONLY wearing some swimming trunks, boxers, less is better.  The players then have 2 minutes, to NOT write down what he is wearing, BUT write down what the male model will be wearing when he reappears fully dressed.
On his return, players must check to see how many items they remembered.  For every item you get right a point is allocated.  The player with the most points, guessing most items which appeared on the female and the male on his return WINS...enjoy!!

Who Is This?

Players: Any Number
You Will Need: Paper and Pen
How to Play:
Families make a list of about 12 catchphrases famous people/characters, past or present, might say.  Jumble them up, the players must pair the right person with the catchphrase.

Examples.

Yabba Dabba Doo' (Fred Flintstone)
'Yus m lady' (Parker)
You are the Weakest Link! Goodbye! (Anne Robinson)
"I don't believe it!" (Victor Meldrew
"Eat my Shorts" (Bart Simpson)

It is A Tough One

Players: Any Number
You Will Need: Pen and Paper, Tech will do

How to play:
This game can be hard but fun.  Each player selects a letter from the alphabet.  Players then must write a news article or poem or maybe a short story, only using the letter of choice.  This can be tough for even the brightest, so do not fret if you get stuck.  Allow 20 minutes playing time, longer if you do not get bored.  Ready to read, the writer with the most imaginative piece should get the grand prize.

Sneaky

Players: Any amount
You Will Need: Pack of Cards
Get your cards and shuffle them. Next ask someone to pick a card from the deck and ask them to show it to everyone else.  As they are doing that, sneak a peek at the bottom card in the deck, WHAT EVER YOU DO, DON'T FORGET IT.
Ask the volunteer to put the card back on the top of the deck face downwards. Time to impress with your speech to impress your captive audience "casually cut the pack anywhere you like".

Square off the deck, fan through the cards and the selected card will be immediately beneath the one you glanced at earlier.

Static Electricity

You Will Need: Salt, Pepper, Plastic Comb
Start by pouring some salt on a table and sprinkle a few grains of pepper on top.  Now the fun begins.  Tell your audience that you will separate the salt from the pepper in just 10 seconds.
Begin by combing your hair to create static electricity, when this is done, hover the comb over the pile...tataaaaarrrr!!!
Notice the pepper grains coming away from the salt?
Hint: Don't use the comb without washing or you will be making everyone sneeze.

Tap and Get Drunk

Players: Any Number
You Will Need: A coin each, A table (it will get scratched so choose wisely) Some liquor.
How to Play: Not much talking in this game, but you need focus, concentration and good coordination.
This is a very quick game; the chosen starter starts by tapping his/her coin once. The next person to the LEFT taps their coin once, and this continues around the room or in a circle continuously.
Tapping the coin once the play remains the same no changes.
Tapping the coin twice reverses the direction of play, (left 2 right, right 2 left.
Tapping the coin quickly 3 times skips the next player.
This game needs to be played fast, anyone who fails to keep up, taps wrong or misses the correct instructions (going right instead of left) forfeits, the game and a penalty is taken, for instance (down a shot of gin) :) GOOD LUCK YOUR GONNA NEED IT.

Buzz

Players: Any Number
You Will Need: Beer Sprits
How to Play: This is a well-known game which may seem simple, but some intelligence and concentration is needed. Start by everyone sitting in a circle and then pick one player to start.
The player says No"1" and the next player "2" and the next player "3" and so on.
When the count gets to 7 or 11 or multiple of 7 or 11 (I did say it was an intelligence game)

Proverbs What’s That?? Panto

Players: Any Number
You Will Need: Paper, Pencil or Pens, Container
Players are divided into 2 teams.  Each person writes a proverb on a piece of paper.  The teams put the proverbs into the container.  The first team picks a proverb (hides it is from the opponent team) now you must act it out.  If the opposite team gets it correctly, they get a point, if they get it wrong, the other team must try and guess what it is.  Get it right you get a point!

Why be Bored!! Shopping Games

OK!!! So I am, sat here waiting for my daughter in the shopping centre @traffordcentre
So I decided to try and invent some games to play and keep myself occupied.

Spot the Selfridges Bags
Give yourself 3 minutes to see how many Selfridges bags you can see.  I counted 12 bags in 3 minutes.  Obviously you can choose which ever bag you prefer... Maybe you could see how many white shoes you can spot!! Give it a go!

Catch a Pickpocket
As you're walking choose a shop or if you prefer, walk-in a shop. Large department stores are best. Now see how long it takes you to spot the first pickpocket... it's amazing at how easy it is for people to put things in a handbag or pocket without being caught. Only thing is with this game is,!!! the moral dilemma #doitell or It's up to you.

I Spy

How often do you see posters,  in shop windows and you take no notice.  Why not spend some time reading a few.

In the past I have found some interesting and useful images and information which I have put to use on my return home.

I have in the past found information on joining a choir... Which I went on to join, activities for my daughter, night outs and the odd picture which I found interesting.

My favourite is writing do Internet links, and whilst waiting surf the net looking at the new sites which I otherwise would not have seen.

Not long ago I found a very useful life coaching poster, which I promptly made use of, by joining up for a FREE 2 day life coaching course.
So give it a go... Who knows what you will find!!

Say Hello

So this activity does not suit everyone. It will take you out of your comfort zone, and push boundaries.

Rather than sitting alone on tapping away on your phone, try some good old fashion spontaneous conversation with a total stranger.

My mum is ace at this one-she talks to "anyone". The nice part is seeing her laughing with a stranger who she has only just met.  Sometimes I find myself saying.... "why would they tell you that?".

Try it, it's one of the more scary things you can do, but ever so interested. Who knows who you might meet!!!  In the past, I have met novelist, GP's, retired professionals, people who have lost their jobs, homes. I have happy people, sad people and people who have no one.

Thoughts of Fashion

I just love to people watch... Call it weird, but it's amazing how as humans we can make assumptions on a person's personality, lifestyle, carer on the clothes they wear.

So this game is all about changing it up....
Look around you and see what people are wearing.
There is so much ideas on the highstreet.

I will usually look for someone my height and body frame, and see what they are wearing.  If it looks good next time I shop I will try something simular on, whether it be a pair of high waisted jeans, a crop leather jacket.
Give it a go and see why your style senses leads you.
