World Cup 2014

2014 World Cup is here so, why not theme your party around your favourite team or a big game? Invite some friends, family or even your neighbours to watch the game and have a party. (http://adultparty-games.blogspot.co.uk/2014/05/cinema-outdoors.html)

I will show you how to create a sporting theme, and decorate your home or garden with everything football. If ever there’s a big game on the box, this is always a great reason to celebrate.  This is a fun way to enjoy the footie, a great occasion for all the family, or have a big people event with lots of beer and wine.  What ever you decide it's a great way to spend a weekend with your loved ones.

Check out http://www.partypieces.co.uk/summer-party.html for great football theme decorations. They provide everything you could possibly need to plan a great event.  Their range includes an essential football party kit, loaded with all you will need.

        Planning the football party:

There are many ways to plan your football theme party.  You could watch it live on your TV at home, watch the re-play in the garden, on the beach, by the river on in the park.  What ever way you decide to go, it should be a relaxed affair.  Whether you are watching a league game on TV at home or re-living the excitement outside in the garden, park or on the beach, a football party should be informal and relaxed. You don’t have to be all football fans to enjoy the occasion; it’s just a good excuse to get everyone together www.skysports.com
        Inviting your guests:

Send out some football invitations or try the cheaper way of cutting out circles from football wrapping paper, stick on plain white card, write the details on the back, for a quick and easy solution.
If you’re inviting your guest to watch a big game, try asking them along an hour or so before the game starts. This will give you enough time to create a great party atmosphere so everyone can get in the sporting mood.  This is when you can offer snacks and drinks
.
Please remember to spread those bean bags, making sure everyone has a good seat to watch the game.  Remember the party does not have to base around one game; you could just have a BBQ, afternoon tea, with the footie in mind.  If you have children this is a great alternative because you could finish early, so they won't be out too late.

        Time to decorate:

Start by decorating your home and garden with vibrant football theme decorations, or England themed decorations.  Do your research on the internet.  There are plenty of football theme suppliers around to make life easy. Usually they will offer reasonable   postage, even free sometimes.

Start by hanging football bunting between trees, football flags in the garden and fix a football party sign on your front lawn or driveway.  Serving finger foods, doing a BBQ’s or buffets works very well.  Serving your food in football themed paper plates and napkins is a great way to complete the theme.

Helium balloons, tied in the garden or around the party lounge, in bunch will make your party space even more appealing.   Alternatively balloon weights will allow you to arrange your balloons on table or in other empty areas. If your garden is large enough, don't forget to take out the mini goal, for some more fun after the game.
        Football party menu:

When choosing your menu bears in mind your entire guest, choose something that works well for both children and adults. Things like mini pizzas, salmon and potatoes, potato wedges, nachos and delicious dips.  A nice cous cous salad mixed with a crunchy salad drained with a balsamic vinegar dressing, is easy to make and you only need a little to go a long way.  Think of fun finger-food choices and best for feeding a crowd.

Everything mentioned can be prepared beforehand and require just re-heating in the oven.  A BBQ fit for footballers will also go down a treat.  There are many small easy to use BBQ's which can be used, if on the beach or in the park.
Chicken drumsticks, mini burgers, sausages and kebabs are fun to serve and everyone will enjoy "digging in". A big bowl of green salad, corn on the cob, avocado, tomatoes, mozzarella or goat's cheese and other delicious fillings will be popular with the adults too.  For the children, make some popcorn, and serve them in hand made cones (football paper).

Prepare plenty of cold drinks, including soft options for the children and non-drinkers try making a thirst-quenching punch and serve in football party cups. For dessert, you could bake a few batches of cupcakes in football cupcake cases and serve on football cake stands.  If you prefer you can buy plain ready-made cakes from the supermarket and then just decorate them yourself.  You may also be able to pre-order from your local bakery, decorated and ready to serve.

        Serving your food:

Again you can get some lovely football plastic party-ware perfect for outdoor parties on the internet.  Finger foods can be served on trays covered with vibrant colourful napkins. Popcorn, crisps, salads can be served in giant football serving bowls or plain coloured bowls, bought from your local supermarket.

   Football party fun & game

:

OK! It's time to organise some fun outdoor party games. A mini football tournament will go down great for both children and adults.  This will add a competitive spirit.  You might want to get a football piñata; guests take it in turns to hit the piñata until the entire contents spill to the floor.  These are readily available at this time of year.  You might also like to try playing your tournament with a tennis ball, to add more fun.

What about offering guests a chance to have the St George’s cross painted on their face or other colours of their favourite football team? Children will love this but keep some face wipes on hand for easy clean up. Another fun activity for children is a football cookie kit, which comes complete with ready-made gingerbread cookies, icing and an edible football shirt so children can decorate their own masterpiece.

    Going home

Send children home with a football inspired goodie bag – even just some football party bubbles, football whistle and finger football game popped into a football loot bag or football gift cup are fun. Even the older members might appreciate a bag of chocolate footballs to take home with them. There are lots of football prizes, presents and toys at Party Pieces that will make great post-party mementos.
