Valentine's Day is a day for lovers when you want to make that special someone precious by doing anything and anything.   If your penny pinching at the moment like most of us I thought I would put together some cheap Valentine ideas, so there is no excuses, you can still make your loved one feel special.

Cheap Valentine's Day ideas are not a way to compromise, but a way to save you money so you don't have to spend all your savings on one day.   There are many ideas to make your special someone feel cared for with minimal cost. You need not be a rich person to present a memorable Valentine's Day to your loved one.

Playing a musical instrument:  This is one of the cheapest and cutest Valentine's Day ideas learning to strung a guitar or any other musical instrument on a Valentine's Day. Imagine writing a song and playing it to that special loved one....awesome!!  You might even choose to play your loved one favourite song on this special day.  Using websites such as YouTube is a good way to learn even if it is just the basic, they will be so proud of you.


Hand Made Stuff:  Bring out the artistic side of your personality. Try  making a portrait of your sweetheart or make a sketch of your darling.  You could even try making a Papier Mâché head and shoulder figure of them. Rip up old newspaper or magazine and make a collage of your special person, or there favourite thing, you could also just write a few word,  I LOVE U.  After you have made your choice, present in a beautiful frame. Sit back and see the joy in his/her eyes being presented with an original effortful and romantic gesture from you.  

  

Hidden Gems: A great way to surprise your sweetheart by offering presents through anticipation. You can buy a few small boxes/tubs, in each place  with his/her favourite chocolates alongside a tiny gift.  Hide these boxes for him/her to find put them where you know they will look every time a box is found and opened they will get surprised.


Balloons:  Try blowing up loads of balloons and filling a room for instance the bedroom, great surprise, have a bottle of your favourite wine waiting on the bed.  They will find it after they make their way through all the balloons.


Jar of Hearts:  Buy a jar with a little character and a lid.  Cut some love hearts out of several different coloured paper. Fold each heart in half and write a romantic message in each one. This is the time when you can make a long list of all the reasons why you love this person. Seal the jar decorate  and give either on it's own, or with a gift, for instance a bouquet of roses.

 

Mobile Video: Why not try making a video and sending via your mobile phone.  You can recite yours or theirs favourite poem if you don't know it make one up, especially for your loved one.


Heart shaped: chocolates and candies or small showpieces or soft toys.  A traditional favourite, that never gets tiresome.  Remember to spray the soft toy with their favourite scent.  If there is a perfume they like but you can't afford it, take your toy to the perfume counter and have a blast!!! squirt  that special toy.



 

Give a CD with his/her favourite songs:  Download a reliable CD burner to your laptop and burn some tunes.  Spend the day/night listening to the CD and reminiscing over the songs.  Have a bottle of bubbly or wine and sing and dance let the love flow.




Hand made cards: Save your pennies buy some card from the stationary shop and make a card.  This is a much cheaper and original way to show your love.  Splash out on a couple of nice coloured pens to give a beautiful design.


Under £5.00:  Prepare the breakfast when your Valentine wakes up and present a bunch of flowers to start the day.  Surprising to your partner in the morning will pave the way for a delightful day ahead, and will not break the bank.  Present your handmade Valentine card. Take a walk on the beach; at night go for a walk while relishing a local brand ice cream if your budget does not allow you to spend beyond £5.00 pounds.
